Safety Advisor – Rockhampton

Note: This role is open to safety professionals with commercial build experience wanting to pursue a formal / professional career pathway in the local building industry. 

Our Client, proudly considered the most prominent local commercial builder, is renowned for their commitment to their employees, stability, and has truly sustained their values across their regional and metropolitan offices . A strong pipeline of work has been secured for the next couple of years, representing commercial build projects in the range of $3M – $50M across Rockhampton and Yeppoon. 

On offer is a permanent and secure opportunity for an experienced / developing Site Safety Advisor. Based on-site, but with the opportunity to work at time across a small number of projects or one major project, you will enjoy the diversity of work. Projects include schools, community infrastructure, hospitality venues, aged care facilities, medical and health infrastructure as well as general commercial works. 

You may be currently working for a commercial tier 1, 2 or 3 builder, major sub-contractor (on construction sites) or finished your tertiary studies and have exposure to the wider Built Environment. Preference will go to individuals who currently reside in Rockhampton / Yeppoon or are willing to relocate permanently. 

From a company perspective, formal accreditations have been achieved; systems and procedures are in place, now it’s your opportunity to focus on maintaining adherence to Federal safety requirements.

You must have;

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in safety and up-to-date accreditation. 
  • Stable and loyal tenure to previous Employers.
  • Formal Safety and QA experience within the commercial build environment (ideal).
  • Excellent communication (written & verbal) and formal report writing skills.
  • Solid understanding of Australian safety legislation and QA standards.
  • The ability to maintain and promote a safety conscience culture. 
  • The ability to maintain strong site reporting systems through effective consultation with site staff.
  • The ability to devise, develop and monitor effective risk assessment management strategies relevant to the project.
